Stuck-on residue on the bottom of narrow necked vases
always seems impossible to reach but it can be bubbled away.
Fill vase halfway with water and drop in 2 Alka-Seltzer tablets.
Wait till fizzing stops then rinse clean.
The same method can be used for Thermos flasks.
