Cleaning your iron - In some households there are more than one person that uses your iron and as you know accidents do happen.
When you have a mark on the soleplate of your iron and you do not know what caused the mark - Try this - no 1 - First heat iron then take a newspaper and iron the newspaper just incase it is a grease or wax mark on the soleplate of your iron. Newspaper is like brownpaper it absorbs grease and wax when heated. If this does not work to remove the mark make a paste of bicarb and some water. The consistancy must be like cream coming out of a tube. Rub this paste on the cool soleplate of the iron with a soft cloth - them wipe clean with a damp cloth - marks should be removed.
By the way, steam irons steam holes on the soleplate normally clogs up after a while - to clean this take a straightened paperclip and pick out all the clogged holes on the soleplate of iron and wipe clean with a damp cloth.
